Salle de Concert Oscar Peterson Concert Hall Concordia University, Loyola Campus The sixth annual electroacoustic festival produced by EuCuE, and the Department of Music of Concordia University will once again present seven concerts of very recent compositions from around the world. As previously, Mid-autumn Harvest Moon concerts are made up exclusively of works in four, five, six, seven and eight channels, each preceded by a short sonically illustrative introduction. Works dating from the early 1970s to September 2009 reflect the panorama of styles and aesthetics prevalent in the discipline over the past thirty-five years from glitch, microsound, and acousmatic, to algorithmic invention, many with a video component. For these concerts, the ten speakers are placed around the audience so as to create a range of sound experiences, from the pointedly directional nature of four or more points of sound to the immersive qualities of otherworldly acoustics. Wednesday, September 30, 2009, 19h30 (7:30 pm) Free admission For more information, contact: kevin.austin@videotron.ca The concert is being produced with the generous collaboration of EuCuE, and special assistance from the Oscar Peterson Concert Hall, the Department of Music and Concordia University.
2009 – IX – 14 Concerts will be webcast (Mark Corwin coordinator), and published in eContact (Yves Gigon and Jef Chippewa coordinators)
